Wow, so it's been a very long time since I wrote!
I'm now living in Portland with a new friend and roomie, Makenzie. I also have my Polka-dog here with me and am enjoying her company. I've been spending most of my days on the couch job-hunting, but have also been enjoying time with family (Damian and Jenny) and friends (Andrew mostly). I had an interview at a doggie daycare last week on Tuesday and am hoping to hear back soon as to whether I'm getting the position or not (I'm REALLY hoping I do). Money is getting a little tight, but I feel like fate has brought me here, so I'm still hopeful.
I don't really know what else life has in store for me right now. I'm just waiting to see what my (hopefully) future job has in store before I start making other plans. Back up plan? Sell my car and buy a ticket home! Hope everyone else is doing well and I'll try to keep things up-to-date a little bit more.... like... at least every 2 months instead of half a year :P *hugs*

I came, I saw, I conquered
The Kokhanok carnival that is. I just got back home this last weekend after spending a little over 3 weeks in Kokhanok. I really didn't have a lot drawing me back down here, so I just hung out, made a lot of bread, and helped with chickens, horses, and children. It was pretty fun. I really enjoyed my time at carnival - especially dancing lots :) I guess I didn't really do a lot else other than go to breakfasts :P
The big adventure in being home now is that I've gone to a bigger town, but a more primitive living situation. Funny, huh? Well, apparently the pipes weren't getting quite enough use with just dad home, so the theory is that something froze and water started backing up into the downstairs. Great, huh? We're still not sure how long it'll take to thaw, but it seems that the blockage at least is being pushed farther down the pipe everyday - as counted by buckets of water Dad's able to pour down the toilet before it stops going down. Until then, we're not allowed to flush the toilet often or take showers at home. Dad has the luxury of a steambath every other night with the guys, but I get the pleasure of bumming showers at Bill and Diane's house. Much love!
Now I'm just looking to planning my travels for the wedding etc. and thinking about my plans for the fall. Should be a fun spring/ summer from here on out! Now we just need to get this snow to clear off so Dad can make it to Kokhanok and work on the boat!

Hah. So I fail, yet again. Somehow it doesn't seem to bother me too much that I can't keep up with the blogging I plan to do. Not so important in the grand scheme of things?
Here's a sample of my life-
-Wake up to the alarm at a decent hour in the morning and decide that the school probably isn't going to call me to sub, so I may as well go back to sleep.
-Get out of bed around 10 and take my time having coffee and breakfast.
-Help around the house a little or spend most of the afternoon goofing around on the internet.
-Work out... or consider working out.
-Eat dinner.
-Watch a movie or tv.
-Talk to Isaiah.
-Set my alarm to get up at a decent hour and go to bed.
Exciting, huh? I'm making some friends now, though, so I'm getting out and having coffee with other people now and then. Also, not all of my internetting is goofing off. I'm trying to look for job options for the fall. It's a little early to search for fall jobs, but at this point I'm just looking for ideas. Next big thing - going to Kokhanok for carnival!
Oh, and the title refers to the half inch of snow we get over the course of yesterday which is now mostly melted. Winter indeed.

Winter Reverie
As dull as my life seems at times, I find as I look through pictures from the last year or so, that I've been on A LOT of adventures. So here we a go, a sample of my life from 2009 (we'll do it in installments to make it a little more palatable):
January 09-
I spent the new year with my soon-to-be-sister-in-law, Jenny. We went to a casino near her home town to bring in the new year and got to ride home in the back of a cop car. What a good start! I then continued on to visit cousin Danica in Portland, where I kept her company on the sidelines (with her torn ACL) of her basketball game and introduced her to pelmini.
On to Boise, where I'd spend nearly a week with Brianna, one of this year's roomies. We had fun singing Fernando to her Yorkie and taking pictures at the zoo... and other places.
When everybody got back to Fairbanks for the semester, we had a January birthday party for Brianna, Kirsten and I. We made pizzas for ourselves and had people over for cake and ice cream. It was fun celebrating with other birthday people.
